Draw a not so dangerous shark clipart using basic elements and a simple step-by-step process accessible to virtually anyone! Illustrating a shark is a fun exercise to achieved. However, this intimidating animal is often drawn from a side perspective. The result is a more difficult tutorial that can become a nightmare for beginners.
Fortunately, you can try this simple lesson based on a template made from basic shapes and also from a front view. Indeed, front views are easier to sketch because all sides are symmetrical. Even easier is the fact that no long curved lines are involved. Only rectangle and circles. Ready to draw this cool cartoon shark? Great! Let's start with the first step available below! :)
First, draw the body using a large rectangle. Inside this body, draw the eyes of the shark using circular shapes. As you can see below, these eyes are partially hidden on both sides of the head. Next, add small circles to form the pupils. Notice how all outlines are thick and easy to read.
Next, you can use a pointed triangle on top of the head of the shark to represent a fin. On both sides of the character, you can draw two more fins using once again triangles, but this time made from curved lines. Finally, complete this step by drawing a tail using a circle with a huge hole in the middle of it. Great work!
It's now time to add smaller details to make sure this character really looks like a shark and not some big creepy fish! Below both eyes, draw small curved lines as shown in the illustration below. Next, add a large rectangle with round corners on the stomach and around the mouth. Finally, draw some teeth below the mouth as shown below.
Cool! Why not add colors to complete this tutorial with a visually fascinating character. Most of the shark clipart is filled with a dark blue color (try to select a color that is not too bright). A lighter version of the same color can be applied on the patch located on the stomach of the character. The pupils can be darker while the eyes can remain white. Outlines are colored with a darker blue color.
These are all four steps needed to come up with a fun illustration like the one available on this page. Do you want to draw more sharks? Then, why not create a cute cartoon shark like this one, a complex version made from cool digital effects or simply another version accessible to anyone. Enjoy these new lessons and have fun drawing sharks! :)
