Adding a seamless texture to your work can give interesting results. Textures are different from shadows. A shadow will give depth to your drawings while textures give them a sense of roughness, of realism.
Textures can be created by sketching a couple of lines or by adding a picture of a close-up of an object. It depends on the level of realism that you want to add to your work.
If you have some interesting tips that you would like to share, then this is the place to do it.
