Learning how to create a seal clipart from a side view can be a challenging experience. This fun animal is usually mostly drawn using curved lines, oval shapes and circles. However, in this lesson, I will show you how to draw a seal from a front view and using a large rectangle to illustrate the body of the character.
Seals are intelligent sea creatures that are often seen in aquatic parks. They are trained to perform numerous tricks, including juggling or balancing a ball using its nose. You can see below the version of the animal you are about to create. Simply open a vector application or grab a pencil and proceed to step number one. :)
First, you can draw the body of the animal using a large rectangle made with a thick outline. This shape can be wide and long. Then, sketch some eyes using large circular shapes. For the pupils, smaller circles can be used. Nice work! Only two additional steps are required to complete this character!
On both sides of the body, create fins using pointed triangles. Notice that the top of each shape is made from a curved line. Then, the tail on the back of the cartoon seal is represented by a long rectangle with two curved lines on top. Only one step is now needed to complete this tutorial ... already! ;)
The nose is done using a long oval shape. Below this shape, you can use long curved lines to draw the mouth. These lines can be pointed on both ends. Excellent! The drawing part of this lesson is already achieved! The next step is dedicated to adding colors and once again, it's a simple step to complete!
The character is mostly filled with a light grey color. The fins are also filled using the same color. The tail must be darker, just like the pupils. The nose is colored in black. Finally, the eyes are white and all outlines are filled with a dark grey color.
These are all four steps needed to create this amazing seal clipart. You won't find an easier tutorial to create a version of this adorable animal. Of course, if you want to work on more advanced versions of this animal, you can always try this fun cartoon seal, this complex seal drawing or this other interesting option of a simple seal made from basic shapes. Enjoy! :)
