Illustrate a simple raven clipart using basic shapes and black colors. This adorable bird is now available in a simple template easy to duplicate. If you don't feel comfortable with the fact of drawing this animal from a side view or using a realistic illustration, then this simple clipart illustration is what you need to learn how to draw this bird in just four steps.
Ravens are intriguing animals from the Corvus family. Mostly black and gifted with large wings and long beaks, these birds are producing a very distinct sound easily recognizable. They can be found in several parts of the world (although they don't necessarily have the same names) and are quite intelligent (for birds, of course). They can eat anything, which is often problematic for farmers.
Below you can see the template that you are about to illustrate in this tutorial. Ready? Let's start this drawing lesson now!
Let's start with a simple rectangle in order to represent the body (and also the head) of this cartoon character. This one must be long and not too wide. Next, you can sketch a small (and pointed) triangle on the bottom of the body to form the tail. When you are done, you can proceed with the next step.
Inside the main rectangle, draw two large circular shapes to form the eyes of the bird. Inside these circular shapes, draw two small circles to create the pupils. Finally, complete this step by adding a long oval shape (with a pointed end) to form the beak.
On the bottom of the character, draw two small curved lines to illustrate the feet. Then, you can illustrate the wings using long straight lines with pointed ends. That's pretty much it for the drawing part of the tutorial. It's now time to add colors inside the raven clipart.
Of course, a raven is usually filled with black and grey colors. No need to select a red, blue or green color here! The body can be filled with a dark grey color. The tail can be slightly darker, just like the pupils. The beak and the feet are colored in grey (but a lighter version this time). All outlines can be black.
These are all four steps that you must go through to illustrate this cartoon raven properly. Feel free to draw your own version using basic shapes and simple lines. :)
