This lesson will help you draw a moose clipart mostly found in North America. I will show you how to illustrate this simple cartoon animal using a large rectangle, a few circles and some simple lines. Nothing complicated or hard to create. Only basic elements!
Moose are large animals mostly found in Canada and some parts of the United States. They are also living in Scandinavia and Russia, but are usually called elk in those parts of the world. Moose are mostly eating vegetation (found on earth or in the water) and are solitary animals.
An adult moose can easily weigh up to 1000 lb and grow up to 7 ft in height. Below you can see the final version of the animal that you are about to illustrate. Take a pencil (or open your digital application) and proceed with step number one found below. :)
Let's begin with the creation of the body using a large rectangle made with a thick outline (just like every other shapes that you are about to create). Once you are done with the body, work on the antlers using a mix of curved lines as shown in the illustration below. When you are done, proceed with step number two.
The eyes are done using large circular shapes. Inside the eyes, you can add pupils using smaller circles. The nose is represented by two small oval shapes placed slightly below the eyes. Finally, a large mouth made from a curved line can be drawn below the nose of the cartoon moose.
In this third step, you can work on the ears using small curved lines. Make the end of both ears is narrow and pointed. Front legs are created using two rectangles and four small pointed lines. The back legs and the tail are not visible, so you don't need to draw those.
Nice work! Let's add colors to make this moose clipart even more interesting to look at. The antlers are filled with a light beige color. The rest of the cartoon animal is colored in brown, except for the eyes that are white.
Wonderful! As you can see, this character was quite easy to illustrate. Only the antlers are a little bit more tricky to achieved. Of course, you can also try to create your own version by adding more details or using different shapes.
If you prefer to work with a rounder illustration of a moose, then feel free to try this simple version made from circles. Have fun with both characters and don't forget to practice often! :)
