Learning how to draw rabbits and farm animals like a turkey and a duck can be a fun task. Indeed, I will show you how to illustrate these simple cartoon animals using a basic template that is easy to duplicate. Once you are familiar with the tips used to draw these cartoon characters, creating more farm and wild animals will be easy. For now, let's proceed with the first character from this short series ... the rabbit.
First, draw two squares to form the head and the body of the cartoon rabbit. Make sure that both shapes are created with round corners. You can also leave a small white space between the head and the body. Next, draw two long ears using curved lines.
Eyes of the character are made from simple dots. The nose is represented by a small triangle. The mouth and the whiskers are created using short lines. A large oval patch is added around the mouth. Don't forget to draw a nice little tooth. Complete this lesson by sketching all four legs and the patch on the chest using curved lines.
The second cartoon animal from this series is a simple duck. Create the head and the body using the same technique as the one found in the previous lesson. Next, add some hair on top of the head using short triangles. Then, create the eyes using small dots. Two smaller dots can also be added inside the eyes.
The beak is made from irregular curved lines. Make sure you get this shape right if you want to create a recognizable cartoon duck. Complete this lesson by adding both wings and legs using a mix of curved lines. Of course, adding colors is also a good idea. :)
Once again, you can proceed with the creation of the head and the body using the same technique. Next, you can draw the tail using two large triangles. You can also draw a long line on the tail as shown below. Eyes are made from small dots and the beak from a large triangle. A small oval shape is added below the beak.
The wings are done using two small curved lines. The legs are made with four short straight lines. Now that the character is completed, you can add some colors to bring this cute animal to life.
Learning how to draw rabbits or any other cute farm animal is easy once you are comfortable with these tips. Simply use the same template to create any character you can think of. You can find more cartoon animals from the same series here. Have fun creating and don't forget to practice as often as possible. That's the key to success! :)
