How to Draw A Husky using simple shapes

How To Draw A Husky Using Simple Shapes

Learn how to draw a husky using a simple lesson featuring an animal entirely made from basic shapes. For this tutorial, only rectangles and triangles are used. Only the eyes and the nose will be created from circular shapes.

Using all six steps displayed below, you should be able to reproduce this animal easily and rapidly if you don't mine practicing a little. Each animal is unique and it is easier to capture the physical uniqueness of each character when this one is drawn with few details and simple and basic shapes.

Let's see how we can draw the husky seen below in just six easy steps ...

let's start with the body and ears

First, you can draw a large rectangle to illustrate the body and the head of the animal. Make sure this shape is large enough to contain all body parts to come. On top of the head, you can sketch two sharp triangles to represent the ears. Don't forget to leave some space around the main shape so that we can add the legs later in the tutorial.

On both sides of the animal (near the bottom of the illustration), you can draw two large legs made from rectangles. In front of the animal, two additional legs drawn from squares are added. These new shapes are touching each other.

sketching a subtle patch

Inside the subject, you can draw a subtle patch using a few straight lines. This patch must be larger near the head, but narrower on the body. We need some space to create the facial expression of the character. Nice work! This lesson on how to draw a husky is progressing nicely.

adding a nice personality to the animal

It's now time add some facial features to the character using more basic shapes. Remember that the face is always the most important part of your subject. Make sure this one is visually appealing.

Inside the ears, draw subtle patches using two more triangles. You can see how these shapes must be added below. Next, draw the eyes using small circles. Another circle (slightly larger) can be sketched below the eyes to illustrate the nose of the subject.

more simple details are required

Below the nose, you can draw a mouth using a straight line. Notice that a small line is also used to join the mouth and the nose. Inside the paws, two small lines are created. Great work! All we need to do is add colors to complete this fun lesson.

adding colors to complete this lesson on how to draw a husky

Most body parts of the subject are colored in white. Only the head and body are colored in gray. You can also notice that gradients were used to color the character. Indeed, most body parts are slightly darker near the bottom and brighter on top. For the eyes and nose, you can add a dark gray color.
