In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a hawk clipart made from simple shapes and filled with plain colors. The design used to illustrate this character is quite simple and duplicating this image should be an easy task. Only basic shapes and lines are used to illustrate this cartoon hawk.
These little birds of prey are often associated with eagles. However, hawks are much smaller and often not the same color either. Hawks are considered quite intelligent. They have an exceptional vision and can see from great distances.
You can see below the final illustration from this tutorial. Made mostly from rectangles and circles, this template was designed to be accessible and fun to sketch. Ready? Let's draw this wonderful bird now!
First, you can draw a large rectangle to illustrate the head of the cartoon hawk. On top (near the right corner) you can draw a small pointed triangle to represent some hair. Then, you can sketch another rectangle below the head (this one should be shorter) and add a simple tail made from a small triangle.
Next, draw large eyes made from circular shapes inside the head of the animal. Pupils are done using smaller circles and the beak is done with a long triangle made from curved lines. Just like we did in the previous step, don't forget to use thick lines for the outlines.
In this final step before adding colors, you can draw two pointed lines to represent the wings. On the bottom of the body, small curved lines are drawn to illustrate the feet of the hawk. When you are finished, you can proceed with the last step displayed below.
It's time to add colors inside the animal. This hawk is mostly filled with brown colors. The body, the tail and the pupils are filled with a dark brown color. The head is done using a brighter version of the same color. Finally, the beak and the feet are colored in orange.
Good job! As you can see, drawing this wonderful character was not a difficult task. You can see all four steps below. Take your time and you should be able to sketch this hawk clipart easily without the need to look at this tutorial again. Have fun drawing this cute bird! :)
