Draw a funny gorilla clipart using this simple tutorial and five minutes of your time! Whether you prefer to use pencils and a piece of paper or a vector application to create this cool character, you should be able to do this quite easily and quickly using simple shapes and lines.
Did you know that gorilla's DNA is around 95% similar to the one of humans? These large animals are strong, agile and somehow quite intelligent. A male can weigh up to 400 lb and be up to 6 ft tall. They usually live in groups and are able to use tools.
You can see below the version of this great cartoon animal you are about to create. This character is slightly more complicated to illustrate than other animals from the same series. Still, you should be able to duplicate this image easily if you follow all four steps carefully. :)
In this first step, you can draw a large rectangle to form the body of the cartoon gorilla. Don't forget to sketch a large and thick outline. Next, you can sketch ears using small circular shapes. Inside the ears, you can add other small patches as shown below.
Time step is the most challenging one. First, draw two large circles to illustrate the eyes. Inside the eyes, draw pupils using smaller circular shapes. On top of the eyes, you can draw large eyebrows using rectangles made with round corners.
Below the eyes, a long curved line can be drawn to represent the light patches found around the mouth and the eyes. The nose is done using two small oval shapes and the mouth is created with a long curved line.
Inside the character, draw two arms using small broken lines. Next, the feet are done using two curved lines. Finally, you can complete the drawing part using a long oval shape to form the tail. Great! Now it's time to add colors inside this cartoon animal.
Our gorilla clipart is mostly filled with grey colors. The entire body, tail, feet, ears, eyebrows and pupils are colored with a dark grey color. The patches inside the ears, around the face and on the stomach are also colored in grey (but a brighter version).
These are all steps needed to create this fun cartoon gorilla. You can also try this more complex version made from circular shapes if you found this one not challenging enough. Enjoy working on this great animal and why not try to create your own version too.
