This lesson on drawing a snake is featuring a simple animal made from one long curved shape and many cool patches. If you are not sure how to draw a cool cartoon snake, then this version should be quite easy to achieve!
Snakes are fun to create and easy to draw. However, drawing a recognizable version is easy while drawing a cool version can be more challenging. The version below is our final illustration. There are a few simple things to consider when drawing such an animal. Let's find out now how to draw a fun snake in just four steps.
First, let's draw the head using a simple rectangle with round corners. Snakes don't have an oval or round head. It is usually narrower on the bottom and made from a few curves. However, my goal is to create a cartoon animal that fits with the others from the same series, so I will use a similar shape.
Next, you can add the eyes using small oval shapes that are colored in black (or a dark green color if you prefer). Once you are finished, you can add the body using two long curved lines. Notice how the width of this line is getting narrower as it's getting closer to the end of the tail. Also, the head is not separated from the body. A small line is creating the junction.
Of course, a good snake is always gifted with a long red tongue. You can use two simple lines with a pointed end to create this part of the body.
Finally, a good snake cannot be drawn without round patches. You can use various sizes, but it can be a good idea to use a single color. In this case, the color of the outline of each patch is the same one as the color of the outline used to illustrate the body. Only the color inside each patch was changed for a darker green.
That was easy, don't you think? Above are all four steps required to represent this fun cartoon animal. Remember to draw a simple head using a rectangle and you can draw the body with long curved lines. Very simple technique, but very effective results! Have fun! :)
