Drawing a panda. That's your mission today using this simple step-by-step tutorial! Using simple shapes and a cute design as a template, you will learn how to duplicate this fun cartoon character in just six easy steps.
As you can see below, the final illustration is not too difficult to create. Pandas are simply big bears colored in black and white (don't forget the big circular patches around the eyes). Let's start drawing now! :)
First, draw a small square to illustrate the head. This shape can be white or filled with a very light grey color. I prefer adding a little bit of color instead of white since the background is already white.
Next, sketch a large black square to represent the body. On the body, add another white square. The stomach of the panda is usually colored in white.
On the face, add two small oval shapes to illustrate the eyes. These shapes must be filled with a white color. Then, draw two large oval shapes behind the eyes. These are the patches and they must be colored in black.
Continue working on your illustration and draw two small circles to illustrate the ears. The nose can also be made from a circular shape. All these shapes must be black. Finally, a long curved line can be used to form the mouth.
Next, it is time to work on the legs and the arms. In this case, only the feet are visible. To create the feet, simply use two black oval shapes. The arms are also colored in black, but the shape is closer to a rectangle with round corners.
For this last step, simply add a white circle on each foot. Nice work! Drawing a panda is simple and fun and I hope you will also try more animals from the same series! :)
This last illustration includes all images required to draw the panda. Have fun with this lesson and don't hesitate to practice as often as needed! :)
