How to Draw An Astronaut

Take a small trip into space using this drawing tutorial on how to draw an astronaut! Indeed, this fun character is not so difficult to create. Although this cartoon astronaut is wearing a large suit filled with details, shapes are relatively easy to duplicate. Let me show you why it's probably the easiest astronaut illustration you can learn to draw!

Step 1

Let's start with the helmet of this character. First, draw a large oval shape to create the outside of the helmet. Draw a similar shape inside. The body can be done with a rectangle made from small curved lines.

Create the arms using rectangles made from curved lines. The hands are made from circles. The feet can be made with long curved lines and straight ones. See the image below if you need more assistance.

Step 3

Inside the body, draw a long vertical line. The eyes are illustrated with large circular shapes. Leave some room below the eyes to add more details later in this drawing tutorial.

Step 4

On top of the helmet, draw an antenna using a small rectangle and a tiny circle. The pupils are created from large circles. On the body, start adding some details using a small rectangle with round corners.

Step 5

Inside the pupils, you can draw a small oval shape. The nose and the mouth are made from curved lines. Finally, you can add more details inside the suit of the cartoon astronaut.
