Learn how to draw an artist and complete the weird task of creating a single cartoon character based on ... you! Indeed, if you are performing this drawing lesson, you are literally drawing yourself since you are an artist (you draw, don't you?). However, no need to worry. This is not an exact replica of yourself. Just a fun representation of what an artist can look like! :)
Enough with the humor! Let's start drawing! ;)
First, create a large oval shape to illustrate the head of your cartoon character. Make sure that the top is slightly narrower than the bottom. Add a small rectangle to form the body. The legs are also made from a small rectangle.
Sketch small ears using circular shapes. The arms are also made from long rectangles. The hands are represented by circles. You can draw the feet using long curved lines like shown on the image below.
Next, you can draw the hat using a rectangle made from curved lines. The eyes are huge and made from circular shapes. Don't forget to draw the tools of the artist using thin rectangles and curved lines.
Proceed with the creation of the pupils using once again circular shapes. The nose is made from a small curved line while the mouth is created from a longer one.
Time to add some details on this cartoon character. First, draw the hair using small curved lines. Add a moustache and some facial hair using triangles. Finally, add some details on both tools.
Nice work. You can see on the black and white version below that this cartoon character is a little bit more complex to draw than other characters from the same series.
Why not add colors inside your character? After all, a cartoon artist filled with large white space doesn't really look like what artists are all about. You can see all steps required to illustrate this fun character above. Enjoy! :)
