Still afraid of scorpions? Why not learn how to draw a scorpion and see if this one is friendlier and cuter than the real thing! It's true that these animals don't have a good reputation. Although most of them are harmless, many people still believe that every scorpion is potentially deadly and all of them should be exterminated ....
One thing is sure, the cartoon scorpion below doesn't need to be exterminated. In fact, it must be duplicated! To achieve this goal, simply follow all six steps available on this page and you should end up with a cute version of this terrible animal!
Cool! Let's start this drawing lesson with the creation of the head using a small circular shape. The top of the head should be slightly narrower. Below the head, draw another shape to illustrate the top part of the body.
Next, complete the body of the scorpion by adding two more oval shapes. The tip of the tail (also called the aculeus) is represented by two curved lines joined together. Study the shape below carefully to make sure you draw this step accurately.
Once you are finished with the body, you can work on the pedipalps (the claws) using long straight lines and curved triangles. The new elements are connected to the first circle used to illustrate the body.
Great! You can now draw the small legs that can be seen on both sides of the body. Small pointed triangles are needed. Like most characters from this series, you can sketched the eyes and the pupils using large circles.
To complete this lesson, you can add a long curved line on the face of the scorpion to create the smile. Small oval shapes are needed inside the pupils to illustrate the sun's reflection.
This is the final version of this scorpion in black and white. It's a little bit more complex to illustrate compared to previous animals from this series, but it is still relatively easy since most elements are made from basic shapes.
You can also try a more challenging version if you feel like this one is too easy. The other scorpion drawing is featuring a front view of this animal as well as more effects inside the character.
