Nothing is cuter than a drawing lesson on how to draw a puppy made from a simple and adorable design! If you want to impress others with your drawing abilities, then this is the perfect lesson to try! No doubt that once you are familiar with this cartoon character, you won't have any difficulty duplicating this easy lesson at home.
Puppies are fun to draw because unlike dogs, they are made from smaller parts and the level of cuteness is always pretty high! Let's see how you could sketch a similar version using only a pencil, a few basic shape and a couple of free tips. :)
The head is created from a large oval shape. Make it as large as possible. The body is illustrated with a small square. The smaller the better. Of course, keep a little bit of room inside the body so that more elements can be added later on.
The legs and the paws are represented by a series of oval shapes. Notice how the back legs are slightly higher than the front ones.
The ears are drawn using a few curved lines. This cartoon puppy needs small ears with pointed ends like shown on the illustration below. The eyes are made from large circles. However, these circles must be close without touching each other.
Pupils are made from small oval shapes. The nose is also made from a single oval shape. Notice how the nose is located below the eyes and a small space is visible below it so that you can add the mouth later. The tail is drawn using a small triangle.
Around the left eye, draw a large circle to illustrate the black patch seen in the colored version. You can also add small oval shapes in the pupils. The mouth is made from a long thin line.
Good work! This puppy is cute and ready to be colored. Once again, don't hesitate to unleash your creativity and create your own version. It might be fun to duplicate this character, but creating your own animal is even more rewarding.
