Learn how to draw a moose using a few basic techniques and create a fun character that everyone will enjoy! This lovely character was designed using a simple template easy to duplicate. You'll see that drawing a front version can be fun and rewarding.
All you need to know is how to read a simple step-by-step tutorial and how to draw basic shapes. You can see the final illustration (with colors) below. As you can see, this cartoon moose is mostly made of circles, oval shapes and a few triangles.
Let's start this lesson with the addition of a large circle to illustrate the head. When you are done, draw a smaller oval shape to represent the jaw. This new shape must be small and located on the bottom of the original circle.
Next, time to draw the body using another circular shape. As you can see below, the body is basically the same size as the head. The legs are made from rectangles. The hooves are also made from small rectangles.
The ears are created from two small triangles. When you are ready, you can also add the antlers using a large rectangle with multiple curved lines on top.
This one is an easy step! To create the eyes, draw a large circular shape and add another small circle inside each eye. Notice how the pupils are close to each other compared to the eyes.
Finally, you can complete this tutorial by adding small details on the body of the moose. First, add a small line inside the ears. You can also create the nose using two small dots and draw the mouth using a long curved line.
Nice work! This is the final illustration filled with black and white. Don't hesitate to practice as often as needed. This is not an easy animal to draw, but the front posture is certainly easier to draw than a side one.
As you can see below, only six easy steps are needed to end up with an adorable moose that is fun to look at and easily recognizable. It's now time to try to draw your own version using basic elements, shapes and colors. Are you ready to be on your own? ;)
