It might be easy to learn how to draw a leprechaun, but not all creatures are willing to be part of a cool drawing tutorial for beginners! Some prefer to hide while others are only happy when all the attention is directed towards them. Leprechauns are usually hiding in dark areas, at least the ones found in modern culture. So let's try to illustrate this fun cartoon character using a few simple tools and techniques ...
Let's start with this first step. Draw a large oval shape to form the head of the leprechaun. Next, draw a small square to illustrate the body and another one to create the legs. The arms are also made from rectangular shapes while the hands and feet are made from circular shapes.
Next, you can illustrate the hat using a circle and two long rectangle made from curved lines. The eyes are represented by two large circles. On the shirt, you can add more details like shown in the illustration below.
Let's work on the face of the cartoon leprechaun. Draw long ears using triangles. Pupils are made from circles. The nose and the mouth are sketched using curved lines.
In this step, you can add the hair and the beard of the cartoon character using multiple shapes and lines.
A four leaf clover is also added on the hat of the cartoon leprechaun. Complete this drawing lesson with the addition of oval shapes inside the eyes of the character.
Nice work! This final illustration shows all the work needed to end up with an adorable and cute leprechaun.
