Loaded with charisma and wisdom, learn how to draw a grandma and pay tribute to an important figure in your life! It might seem easy to sketch a grandmother as a cartoon character, but it's definitely not an easy task! How do you combine simple shapes to create a believable and cute character? How do you depict wisdom through a funny illustration? Let's learn how to achieve all this through this simple drawing tutorial ... :)
First, draw the head using a large circular shape. If you remember what is the shape of an egg, then this is the one you need to duplicate here.
The body of this cartoon grandma is drawn using a small rectangle. The dress is also made from a rectangle, but this one must be narrower on top and made from subtle curved lines.
Cool! You can now work on the arms of the character using long rectangles. The hands are made from circular shapes. Finally, you can draw the hair as shown on the illustration below.
On top of the head, draw a small circle to illustrate this original hairstyle. The eyes are represented by large circles while the pupils are made from smaller ones.
Next, you can complete this drawing lesson by adding small oval shapes inside the pupils. The nose and the mouth are made from pointed curved lines.
Good job! This lesson is now over. You can add colors to this adorable character. Remember to end up with grey hair to make sure this character looks like a grandma.
Below are all six steps needed to illustrate this character. Enjoy! :)
