How to Draw A Dolphin using simple lines and shapes

This tutorial on how to draw a dolphin is featuring a simple cartoon character that everyone will love! Despite a more dynamic posture compared to other animals from the same collection, this dolphin is still quite easy to create even if you are a beginner. Once you are able to create the head and the body of this cartoon dolphin, then everything else is relatively easy to draw.

As you can see below, the posture is unique and the colors are used to give more depth to the illustration. This cartoon character is a little bit more challenging to draw, but using this lesson you should be able to achieve your goal quite easily.

Step 1

First, let's draw the body and head of the cartoon dolphin. All these shapes are drawn using a single line, but you can use basic shapes if you need guidance. Pay attention to the shape of the mouth, the width of the tail and the size of the back fins.

Step 2

Using small triangles, you can add a single fin on top of the head and another one on the right side of the cartoon character. Make sure these shapes are slightly curved and pointed.

Next, you can draw large circles to illustrate the eyes. Since our goal is to create a fun and adorable cartoon dolphin, it might be a good idea to make these circles as large as possible.
