Welcome to this fun tutorial on how to draw a dachshund made from simple elements. If you already tried the dog from this series, then you should not have any trouble creating this version of a dachshund. If it's your first time on the site, let me show you why this dog is so easy to draw.
How can you draw a dog and make sure that this one looks like a dachshund? First, the body. Obviously, a dachshund is sketch with a long and thin body. That's the most important feature to illustrate. Then, you can also draw long and large ears. Finally, a tiny pointed tail should be enough to help anyone recognize your cartoon animal.
Let's start this drawing lesson with the creation of the body and the head. For the body, you can use a long rectangle. Notice how this one is thin? Remember that this is a cartoon character, so don't be afraid to exaggerate these shapes. Next, you can use a large oval shape to form the head.
Cool. Now let's draw the legs of this adorable animal. Basically, if you already tried the dog, you can use the same shapes to illustrate the front and back legs. However, you can make these shapes slightly smaller. The head will look bigger and the overall effect will be more relevant.
The ears are made from simple rectangles with round corners. The ears must be facing the ground. The dachshund is not an energetic animal and these ears are rarely pointed towards the sky.
The eyes are created from huge circular shapes. Don't place these shapes too high on the face. We want to keep some room for the forehead. The nose is illustrated with a small oval shape. Finally, you can draw a tiny tail using a sharp triangle made from curved lines.
The mouth is sketch with a single line. Pupils are made from oval shapes. Don't forget to add a small line to connect the mouth and the nose together.
Nice. Drawing a simple and cute dachshund has never been so easy! Once you are finished, you can color this masterpiece using markers or anything else you have in mind.
These are all six steps needed to compete this drawing lesson on how to draw a dachshund. Review each step carefully. Even if this cartoon animal is visually simple and easy to duplicate, you must draw everything correctly to end up with a recognizable version. Have fun! :)
