How to Draw A Cowboy

Take a trip into the past while learning how to draw a cowboy made from simple and basic elements! Cowboys are quite fun to draw. You can make them cute, angry, covered with dust or cleaner than water. For this drawing lesson, let's try a simple (and fun) cartoon character filled with details that should easily be recognizable!

Step 1

Sketch a large oval shape to start this drawing tutorial. This shape is used to illustrate the head. The body is sketched with a rectangle. The pants are also made from a small rectangle.

Next, add two long rectangles to form the arms of the character. The hands are made from small circular shapes. For the feet, simply draw a long curved line and a straight one.

The hat is done using multiple curved lines. You can also draw some hair just below the hat as shown below. Finally, you can draw both ears using small circles.

Continue working on this cartoon character by adding large circles to illustrate the eyes. Smaller ones can also be drawn to form the pupils. Add more details on the body of the cartoon cowboy like shown in the illustration below.

Finally, add some oval shapes inside the pupils and draw a moustache under the nose of the character. You can also draw a mouth and add more details on the shirt.

This nice cartoon cowboy is now completely done. Feel free to add some colors or simply draw it again.
