A simple character with a cute hat on the head, learn how to draw a child that can be achieved by anyone, even young kids! You will see that the recipe to create a fun illustration is really simple. All you need to do is use large basic shapes, sketch a simple design and make sure that all proportions are respected. Sounds difficult? Let's give it a try!
Are you ready? Good! Start by adding the head using a circle. As you can see below, you can draw an egg and make it wider. The body is made from a small square.
Proceed with the creation of the legs using once again a small rectangle. The arms are also made from small rectangles while the hands are drawn using circles.
Continue working on this fascinating cartoon child by adding a cap using two long curved lines. The feet are also created using smaller circular shapes.
On each side of the head, you can draw hair using small rectangles made from curved lines. The eyes are done using large circles. Notice how the cap is partially hiding the eyes.
This last step includes the creation of the pupils using large circles. Small oval shapes can be added inside these pupils. The nose and the mouth are illustrated with long curved lines like shown below.
Excellent work! This fun cartoon character can be seen in a black and white version below.
