Welcome to this tutorial on how to draw a bird using basic techniques and tips that can be achieved by anyone! You don't need advanced drawing skills to create this simple cartoon character
If you can draw a triangle and a circle, then chances are that you will be able to complete this lesson easily! The final result will be similar to the one below. You can add colors if you want to, but this is not the purpose of this cartoon lesson. Ready? Let's draw! :)
First, draw a large oval shape to create the head. Don't forget to illustrate the hair on top of the head. You can do so using three simple triangles. Make sure that they are not too similar and change the width and sizes.
The eyes are drawn using large circular shapes. These huge eyes are perfect to give more personality to the cartoon character. The body is made from a small oval shape. Notice how the head is bigger. It should help us create a more adorable illustration! :)
Now you can draw the legs using long thin lines. The feet are made from three simple rectangles. Once again, it's a good idea to draw small, simple shapes to illustrate this fun bird.
Good! The wings can be represented by long pointed oval shapes. The tail is made from a square (with a small curved line on the bottom). Now that all elements are done, let's work on the face of the animal.
The beak can be illustrated with a large triangle. Eyes and pupils are made from circles. You can also add a small reflection inside the eyes using oval shapes.
Nice work! This is a representation of the final character without colors. Don't hesitate to draw this animal until you are 100% satisfied with the result.
Below is a sample of all six steps required to create this fun animal. I hope you had fun working on this character and don't hesitate to come back for more! :)
