How to Draw A Beaver

This cute drawing tutorial shows how to draw a beaver made of circles and rectangles. Don't feel intimidated by the complexity of this cartoon animal. Despite the fact that more shapes are needed to create this cartoon character (compared to other tutorials from the same series) this adorable animal is still quite easy to draw!

Below is the final illustration filled with colors. Small details like the shadow below the neck and the one above the front legs are not displayed in this step-by-step lesson. It's up to you to add these elements in the colored version if you wish to.

Step 1

Great! Start this lesson with the addition of a large oval shape to illustrate the head. Next, draw a small rectangle below the first shape to represent the body. Make sure this new shape is smaller than the original one.

Step 2

Time to work on the legs and feet. Use the top part of an oval shape to create the front feet. For the back legs, A long curved line with two circles can be used. To increase perspective, make sure the front legs are larger.

Step 3

On top of the head of the cartoon beaver, draw two small oval shapes that are representing the ears. The tail can be made from a long rectangle with round corners. Make sure that the tail is properly aligned with the back legs.

Step 4

Let's work on the face of the beaver. First, draw the eyes using large circles. You can also draw two pupils using circular shapes. The nose is made from a small oval shape. Finally, the mouth is created with a curved line and the tooth from a small square.

Step 5

Complete this lesson by adding small lines inside the ears and two oval shapes in the pupils. On the stomach, you can also draw a long thin line to add a different color.

That's it! The result is a nice cartoon beaver made from simple shapes that can be filled with warm brown colors.
