Learn how to draw a cartoon mole, a beaver and a raccoon using this simple series made from basic shapes. I will show you how to draw all three lovely characters using a template made from basic shapes, simple lines and plain colors. Even more interesting is the fact that drawing more cartoon animals using this technique is relatively easy once you are familiar with the pattern used to create these characters. Ready? Let's proceed to the first tutorial from this series ... a colorful cartoon mole.
First, let's draw the character using two simple squares. The head should be larger than the body. Next, add the eyes using simple dots. The nose is made from a short oval shape. Sketch the mouth using a curved line and draw a little tooth below this one.
Add a large patch around the mouth and sketch short whiskers. The legs and the tail are made from short curved lines. Complete this lesson by adding saturated colors inside the character. For the skin, use a simple gray / blue color.
You can start this lesson by sketching the head and body using the same technique as the one used in the previous lesson. Create tiny ears on top of the head using short curved lines. Sketch small cheeks using more curved lines. Eyes are made from dots and the nose from a large oval shape. Add the mouth, a tooth and whiskers.
All four legs are created from short curved lines. The tail is huge and located on the right of the cartoon character. A large patch is added on the chest of the beaver cartoon. Use a variety of brown colors to complete this basic drawing lesson.
Of course, this character is also quite similar to both characters drawn previously. However, there are a few major differences. First, ears are longer and sharper near the end. Also, small patches are drawn around both eyes of the cartoon character. Some hair is added near the cheeks. The tail is large, but also pointed near the end. A few basic stripes are also added on the tail of the cartoon raccoon.
All three cartoon characters found on this page are quite similar to illustrate. However, you can also draw a wide variety of cartoon animals using the same template. Don't hesitate to unleash your creativity and try a few of these new animals. As long as you are practicing on a daily basis, learning how to draw cute cartoon animals should be easy using this accessible series. ;)
