Drawing a cartoon chef: some fun facts before starting sketching!
A chef is easy to recognize. He wears a big white hat (1), a nice brown moustache (2), a white suit (4) and black pants (5). A real good chef should be a little overweight and always in a good mood.
Yes, I know! These are all stereotypes! But that's the way you will identify your character as being a chef or not! The plate (3) is not essential but it can add credibility!
It's no surprise to see that our small but overweight character is made mostly of circles. Notice how the arms and the legs are small if we compare to the head and the body. The four buttons costume is also something that you should consider to add more realism to your funny little chef.
Let's try to draw our chef using mostly rectangles (another challenge!). First, sketch the hat by drawing a circle for the top and two rectangles at the bottom. Next, add three rectangles to form the head, the body and the legs of your character. It's now time to draw the arms and the feet of the chef.
You can also draw a better outline for the top of the hat. To conclude your creation, add details like the eyes, the nose, the ears and the suit. Voila! A nice grand chef is born!
It's now up to you to experiment and draw a big overweight chef (1), a tiny one (4) or a more sophisticated one! Don't forget details like the hat, the moustache and the clean white suit. Don't forget any ingredients and you will have the perfect recipe to help you draw a cool amusing chef!
