In this lesson, I will show you how to draw a beaver clip art using a simple step-by-step tutorial as well as a short video. You will have the opportunity to work with a cute character mostly made from large circular shapes and filled with plain colors. If you can draw a few basic shapes, then this lesson is definitely for you! Let's start this fun lesson by taking a look at the short video below.
If you want to see how this adorable cartoon beaver was created, then simply take a look at the short video below. This practical resource shows how the template of the character was created and how adding lines to draw the beaver is simple and relatively easy. If you need more time or prefer to learn more about the drawing process, you can proceed below the video with the written version of this tutorial.
First, we need to create a simple template using mostly basic shapes like circles and rectangles. The body is made from a long oval shape. Two small circles are added on top of the head. The arms and the feet are done using small squares and rectangles. Another large rectangle is used to form the tail of the character.
It's now time to draw the beaver using a few basic lines. Notice how the eyes are made from small oval shapes and the nose from a large triangle. Small patches are added inside the ears and on the chest. You can also draw a few lines on the tail to create textures. Of course, you need to draw two large teeth below the mouth too! ;)
Great work! This is the character once all the lines and shapes are drawn. This version of our beaver clip art is pretty nice, but adding plain colors would definitely make this illustration even more appealing.
For this cartoon beaver, you mostly need a few brown colors as shown below. The eyes, the nose, the hands and the feet must be darker. The tail is slightly brighter. The body is filled with a saturated brown color and patches are brighter ... closer to yellow. Good work!
Below you can see all steps required to illustrate this beaver quickly and effectively. Looking for more versions of this cool character to draw? No problem! You can start with this pretty basic image mostly made from squares and rectangles. If you prefer to play with circular shapes, then this cute version is also quite interesting to illustrate. Finally, for those looking for a real challenge, this cute beaver filled with special effects is also available.
Have fun working with all these tutorials and don't forget to practice as often as possible. :)
