Tiger cartoon (Advance vector tutorial)

Enjoy a nice drawing lesson featuring a cute tiger cartoon made from simple shapes and colored with nice effects. Tigers are fun animals to draw. Similar to cats, but much bigger and stronger, these animals are a great challenge if you are not familiar with felines.
If you are familiar with this section of the site, you know that this tutorial requires that you own a vector software. You can do it without one, but it will be more challenging and tough to go through.
Important note: For each step available below, the first image represents the operation you must perform for this particular step. All changes are surrounded by a red outline. On the second image, you will have the opportunity to see the result of this particular step.
Start working on the illustration by sketching the character using black outlines. Once you are done, use plain colors to enhance the tiger. For now, it doesn't matter if the whole thing is not 100% accurate.
Next, select all shapes of the animal one-by-one and add a gradient fill effect to all these shapes. The goal is to create basic shadows to give more depth to the tiger using a simple tool like the gradient fill.
Create a few circles to illustrate the reflections on the eyes and the pupils. These circles must be white and slightly transparent. You can also create large patches that will be placed below each eye of the tiger.
This step is more complex since you must add a few shadows on many parts of the character. First, duplicate the nose and use this shape to create a small shadow below the nose. Then, create a few shadows on the back legs, the mouth, below the neck and behind the front legs. All these new shapes must be slightly darker and a little bit transparent.
Finally, it is time to add a bunch of lines on your tiger cartoon to complete this tutorial. As you can see, this drawing lesson is relatively easy to achieved if you already know how to draw a cute tiger using basic shapes. I hope you had fun and keep practicing!
