You took all the drawing lessons you could. You practice every day for hours and hours. It's now time to create your own original creations. But that's the problem. You can't seem to be able to find new ideas and be original.
You don't have any new sketching ideas. Finding new ideas and trying to be original is really difficult. We feel like everything as already been done! And it's normal! Most new original ideas are:
But of course, you will understand that the third one is less likable, but still possible.
Now let's take the script of a movie. Imagine this story:
A young man, in an imaginary world, must fight an evil creature and save an endangered princess. To do so, he will be helped by two strange creatures made of steel.
Sound familiar? Of course! It's a simple resume of Star Wars! But even so, you could take the same script and make something completely different by adding more twist to the story, create some new and intriguing characters and set the action in a different environment!
Being original is not so difficult once you understand that being 100% original is not a realistic goal.
You can't reinvent the wheel! It's already been done! You can, however, improve it! Make it rounder, more durable and more attractive to the eye!
That doesn't mean that now you can just take a well-known Hollywood scenario, change a few things and make it your own. It's a little more than that! You need to really give your project a personal touch.
Don't hesitate to add your voice, your color and make sure that the path you just took hasn't been taken by someone else so far...
