Shadows on the floor

What I tend to do when I draw shadows on the ground is draw the outline of the object on a slant behind it.I try to make it like the actual object you are drawing. If it helps, use your finger to find out how long the head or the legs need to be.

Then shade it in grey! And VOILA! You have a shadow!
