Learn to draw people with various shapes
This little tutorial will help you learn to draw people with various head and body shapes to make sure that you are creating the perfect cartoon character for your project. Indeed, creating a character also mean creating something that should fit your needs. If you want to create a character that spends all its time in front of a computer, then maybe it could be a good idea to draw a large body for this character.
It is very easy to design a character. However, it's a little bit harder to come up with something that will fit with the character's personality and motivation. A single character can be modified endlessly only by playing with the size of each part of its body. You must test and try different things before you end up with the perfect illustration. Below, you will find a few examples of a single head that has been modified to create height other images. As you can see above, there are many possibilities when you are designing the head and the face of a cartoon character. Do you know what? There are billions and billions of other possibilities! Just don't hesitate to try new things and experiment as much as possible before moving on. You can create a head with a square shape, add different hair styles, eye colors, head size, nose that are created with a line of a shape... just have fun!
The same process can be applied to the body. In this case, six different characters have been designed using the same basic shapes from one illustration to another. All characters are very simple, yet each of them is unique and represents something different. It's up to you to match the right body with the right personality.
