In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw skulls that are made with simple basic shapes. Nothing too fancy or complicated. You will see that it is possible to draw and create skulls that are easy to recognize even if many crucial elements are missing. Only a few shapes are necessary to create something interesting and good looking.
Don't hesitate to go a little further and experiment more with your drawings. Try to play with various head shapes. Change your teeth for round or square ones (or even better, try to create a skull with no teeth). You'll see that there are many possibilities and that creating a simple cartoon skull is quite easy after all.
In this first example, only two circles are used to create the head. Then, just draw a triangle to form the nose and two large circles to create the eyes. The teeth are made with small rectangles while the jaw is illustrated with a larger rectangle. It's simple, but very effective.
For this second step, I only used a circle to create the head. The bottom of the shape is pointed to give more personality to the cartoon character. The eyes and the nose are created from circular shapes while the teeth are made from small squares. This example shows you how simple it is to create a skull using only the most basic aspects of this part of the human body.
Finally, this last example is mostly made from squares. Once again, no details are visible and only the most important parts are depicted. The head is made from two rectangles while the eyes are still created from circles. That's it for this simple drawing lesson. The goal here is to give you some great ideas so that you can start creating skulls from simple patterns. Knowing how to draw skulls as never been easier! :)
