How to draw a seal

This tutorial will help you learn how to draw a seal easily using only some simple, basic shapes. These lovely animals are usually pretty popular in aquatic parks.
They can do some very basic tricks that can be entertaining, both for kids and parents! Let's see how we could draw a simple seal in only 8 easy steps.

First, sketch the body of your seal by drawing a big oval shape. Give it a slight angle like shown in the image above. Then, you can add a triangle to create the mouth and the nose of your animal.

Continue your artwork by sketching the fore flippers using, once again, some triangles. You can also start working on the tail by adding a large square and a small rectangle.

For the tail itself, draw two circles side-by-side. Then, add two small triangles on each circle to complete the sketching part of your illustration.

Nice it's time for some serious tuning! Rebuild the outline of your seal by following the example above. Make sure to keep all proportions accurate.

Work on the fore flippers and make them bent a little. This will give the impression that your character is standing, just like a human being would.

Add some details on the face of your seal like the nose, the eyes and the mouth.

Conclude this lesson by drawing a nice balloon on your aquatic friend's nose!

And that's it! A simple seal build with basic shapes in only eight easy steps! I hope you enjoyed this lesson and don't forget to practice!
