How to draw a monkey

Before learning how to draw a monkey: some fun facts before starting sketching!
- Monkeys are doing exactly like us. They peel their bananas and don't eat the skin!
- A monkey will yawn because its tired or mad.
- Snow monkeys can live in places were the temperature is below 0.
If you know how to draw a man, then you know how to draw a monkey!
This animal is very similar to us with some exceptions: small ears (2) (or big ones... it depends on what species you are drawing!), a mouth (3) that is a little more up front than the human mouth.
The hands and the feet of monkeys are really similar (4-5). They are able to grab things with their feet... we can't do that!
Looking at the shapes of the monkey, you can notice that this one does not seem to be very fast or agile.
The body is made of a big circle while the arms and the legs are made of several small rectangles.
The face is also rather simple to figure out. The mouth, the nose and the eyes are all made of circles. In this case, the ears are represent by two small triangles.
This drawing is a little complex. That's why you will go through 9 steps instead of 6! First, draw the head, the ears and the body. Take a good look at the shape of the body since it's made of an irregular rectangle. Next, sketch the arms and the legs.
Then, you can draw the hands and the feet of our little friend. The feet are similar to the hands (they look like fingers, not toes!). Continue your artwork by adding details like the eyes, the mouth, small circles in the ears and a circle on the body. Draw a banana and the tail of your monkey and you're done!
Monkeys are fun to draw. You can go for a more realistic monkey (2), a simple one (1) or a funny one (4). Use your imagination and try to draw a monkey using only circles! These challenge are a good way to improve your work and stimulate your imagination! Have fun!
