Learning how to create an adorable hamster clipart can be a fun experience. Using mostly basic shapes and lines, I will show you how to sketch a simple version of this tiny animal in just three easy steps (and a fourth one to help you add colors inside the cartoon animal).
Hamsters are amazing little creatures. These small rodents are quite popular as house pets. Unfortunately, these animals are also used regularly in laboratories. Hamsters are eating fruits, seeds and insects. In the wild, they usually live at night to avoid predators.
They are easily recognizable with their stout bodies, short tails, small ears and short legs. They don't see very well, but do have a very strong sense of smell. Below you can see the final cartoon hamster that we are about to create. Ready? Let's work on this amazing creature now! :)
First, let's draw the body of the animal using a large rectangle. On top of this shape, you can draw two small ears using curved lines. The ears are integrated with the rectangle. Next, you can work on the eyes of the character. Make them large and close to the top of the body. Finally, sketch two small curved lines on each side of the face to illustrate the cheeks of the cartoon character.
Great! Inside the eyes, draw some pupils using smaller circular shapes. Below the eyes, you can draw the nose using another small circle and the mouth using a long curved line. Below the mouth, add two small rectangles to form the teeth of the hamster. Finally, you can draw a large patch around the mouth of the animal.
Inside the ears, draw two smaller patches as shown in the illustration below. Then, create the arms using straight lines. Small feet can be sketched using curved lines and a large patch is also added on the stomach of the hamster clipart.
This is the final illustration once all colors are added. The body can be filled with a light brown color. The nose and the pupils are darker while the patches inside the ears, around the mouth and on the stomach are much brighter.
Yes, this colorful illustration is now completed. You can see all four steps needed to illustrate this character below. Feel like this character is too easy to draw? Why not try a more complex version made from circular shapes here. Have fun with both characters and enjoy! :)
