In this lesson, I will show you how to create an adorable grandpa clipart using mostly rectangles and a few appropriated colors. Grandpas are essential in a child's life. A relationship with a grandpa is quite different from one with a father. That's why it's important to spend time with our grandparents while they are still alive!
Using a bunch of rectangles, circular shapes and basic lines, you will learn how to create your own version of a grandfather and fill this illustration with colors that are perfect to create the best representation possible of this fun character! Let's start this drawing lesson now! :)
Cool! You can start by adding a large square to form the head of the character. Then, you can draw a thin rectangle to illustrate the body of the grandfather. When you are done, draw another rectangle to create the pants. The arms are represented by thin rectangles and the hands are made with small circles. Finally, the feet are drawn using small curved lines.
Nice work! It's now time to work on the face of the character. Draw the ears using small circular shapes. The eyes are done using large circles while the pupils are made from smaller ones. Complete this second step by adding a long curved line to form the mouth. Cool! You can now proceed to the third step!
It's now time to add some features to really make this character look like a grandpa. First, you can draw a few lines on the forehead to illustrate the age of the character. Then, you can draw some hair on both sides of the head, but not on top. Finally, a simple moustache can be added below the mouth to complete this cartoon illustration.
It's time to add colors and make this illustration even more special! Of course, the hair and moustache can be filled with a light grey color. The pupils are brown, just like the shoes. The shirt is colored in green and the pants are also filled with another green color.
These are all four steps required to illustrate this cartoon character properly. I hope you had fun working on this tutorial. You can also try the grandma if you want to try something slightly different. I hope you enjoyed this lesson and have fun drawing cool grandparents! :)
