It's time to learn how to draw a tiger using a simple tutorial and create a simple version of this admirable cartoon character. Indeed, tigers are cute animals similar to big cats that are colorful and easy to recognize.

Drawing a side version of this character can be a difficult and painful experience for a beginner, but sketching and creating a front tiger based on basic shapes is a fun and rewarding experience! Imagine how people will react when they see you achieve this character ... :)

Step 1

Let's start this cartoon lesson with the creation of the head using a circular shape. When you are finished, you can add the body using a long rectangle. This one must be narrower than the head.

Step 2

Next, you can sketch the legs and the feet using mostly curved lines. The front legs are made from a single curved line (and a flat one) while the back legs are made from circular shapes.

Step 3

Cool! Time to work on the tail of this cartoon tiger. This tail is illustrated using long curved lines and a round end. The area near the mouth is drawn using a circle. Finally, the ears are made from large triangles.

Step 4

Cool! Inside the ears, you can draw another triangle like shown below. The eyes and the pupils are represented by large circles. Small oval shapes are also visible inside the pupils. The nose is made from a small triangle and the mouth is created from a curved line.

Step 5

You can complete this illustration by adding a large patch on the stomach of the cartoon tiger. Small lines are also added on the head (above the eyes and on the cheeks) and on the body just below the neck.

Step 6

Here we go! This final illustration represents how the character must look like once you are finished. This character might seem a little complex to illustrate at first, but if you work on each step carefully, you should achieve your goal easily.

Tigers are well-represented on this site. You can try a tiger made from squares and rectangles, another one made from simple circles, a front version without any outlines or simply work on the ultimate version, a tiger with great colors and effects. Enjoy!
