Squares, rectangles and circles are needed to learn how to draw a robot that does look like a realistic machine! Indeed, drawing a cartoon robot is an easy task if you already know how to draw a few basic shapes. However, drawing a "cool" robot is more difficult if you don't have much experience with cartoon characters. Using this drawing lesson, I will show you how beginners can achieve something great using only a few simple techniques. Let's start now!
Cool! Let's begin this drawing lesson with the creation of a large oval shape to illustrate the head. Below the head, draw a tiny rectangle to form the neck. Finally, draw a small square to illustrate the body.
Below the body, sketch two small rectangles to represent the legs. The feet are made from circular shapes cut in half. See the illustration below if you need an image to help you figure out how to create this part of the tutorial.
On the head of the robot, draw a small antenna using a thin rectangle and a small circle. The arms are made with long curved lines and the hands are created from small circular shapes with a missing piece (well, just like a pie with a slice missing might look like).
Inside the body, you can add some elements like a circle and a rectangle. The eyes and the pupils are made from large circular shapes. The mouth is illustrated with several small rectangles.
Complete this drawing tutorial by adding small oval shapes inside the pupils. You can also add more details on the body of the cartoon robot like shown in the illustration below.
As you can see, this cartoon robot is entirely made from basic elements making it easy to draw and duplicate. You can create your own robot by drawing all the basic shapes and elements you want to!
This cartoon robot is definitely the easiest one to draw on this site. However, you can also try this adorable version made from basic shapes too, but filled with gradient colors and effects.
If you prefer something more challenging, this robot offers all you need to create a fun illustration using a vector application. Finally, the most fun looking character is also made from simple shapes and filled with great colors. Have fun with all these robots! :)
