This fun tutorial will help you draw a cool cow cartoon filled with cool effects and nice colors! Drawing this cute farm animal is very easy. Filling it with nice colors, cool gradient effects and effective transparency might be more difficult. Fortunately, that's the subject of this online drawing lesson!
Everyone can complete this tutorial will a little help and practice. Of course, experience users will find it easier to create all the effects using a vector software! Just practice very often and I'm sure you'll be able to create a cool cow like this one!
Important note: For each step available below, the first image represents the operation you must perform for this particular step. All changes are surrounded by a red outline. On the second image, you will have the opportunity to see the result of this particular step.
The first step is the easiest one. All you have to do is reproduce the drawing above (or create an original one if you prefer). Then, apply some colors like shown in the image above.
Next, it's time to play with the gradient tool. First, create a gradient effect on the horns of the cow cartoon. Then, do the same with the body, the nose, the ear and the tail. For each shape, make sure that the bottom part is darker. The tail should be colored with a darker tone on top only.
Continue working with the gradient tool and create a circular fill for the eyes. The inside of your fill should be white and the outside grey. For the patches and the nose, use a standard linear fill.
Time to add some reflections! Create circles to add on the eyes and the pupils. These circles should be white and transparent on the bottom. Create another circle and place it around the main eye. Make the top slightly invisible. Place a square on the head and make the bottom darker. The top right part should be transparent. Leave a small space between your new shape and the old one.
On the bottom of the animal, create two more shapes that will be use to create dark shadows. These new shapes should be dark and transparent on top.
Create a few more shapes on the back, the nose and on each hoof. For the nose, make the bottom part darker and the top transparent. On the back, make the top darker and the bottom transparent. Finally, for the hoof, create a white shape and hide the bottom as much as possible.
Cool! Let's add a few more effects before completing our cow cartoon. Duplicate the horns and make them brighter. You can hide the bottom of each shape with the transparency tool. Repeat the same process for all other shapes on the animal. That's it! Your cartoon cow is now finished! :)
