This tutorial will show you how to draw a cartoon sugar cube. And I know what you think (at least I think I know!). You are probably asking yourself: A tutorial on how to draw a cube?
The answer is yes, but not just a cube! You will also learn how to add some nice texture effect on your creation! So let's start this simple, but effective drawing lesson about a cube... of sugar!

First, draw a rhombus to illustrate the top of your cube. Like shown on the image above, the bottom part of your shape (under the green line) should be bigger and longer than the top. Just a little bit, not too much!

Next, add a single line to create the front edge of your shape.

Then, draw two more lines (like shown above) to create the edges on each side. However, these two new lines should be slightly shorter than the previous one.

Close your shape by sketching the two lines missing on the bottom.

Since a cube of sugar doesn't really have a thick outline, refine this one by making it lighter and more subtle.

Add some grey colors to complete your drawing.

Finally, add some sponge-like textures to your creation. Your cube needs to look rough! And yes, you are done! A simple, but effective sugar cube drawn in only seven easy steps! Have fun!
