How to draw a cartoon strawberry

This tutorial will show you how to draw a cartoon strawberry! This very popular fruit can be found in many products worldwide. Strawberries are fragile, but extremely juicy and loaded with flavor.
This drawing lesson will focus on lighting effects and how to create some nice, but simple textures. Let's start to draw right now!
First, draw a long oval shape to create the top of the strawberry.
Next, sketch a rectangle (or a triangle with a flat side!) to form the bottom of the strawberry. Make sure that the outline of this new shape is aligned with the outline of the oval shape. Don't make the body of the strawberry too long. It should be short and thick.
For the small leaves on top of this fruit, just sketch a couple of lines like shown on the illustration above. You will have the opportunity to work on it later.
Now combine your shapes to create the body of the strawberry. Notice the bottom of the fruit to draw it as accurately as possible. If your strawberry looks like an apple, then you'll miss the purpose of this lesson! :S
OK! Let's draw some better looking leaves on top of your fruit. You can play with shapes and draw some leaves with pointed ends, with round ends or with a straighter end.
Sketch the achenes of the strawberry. Don't overload your drawing! Just a couple of achenes placed accurately can be enough.
Add a small shadow on each achene. We want to give an impression of depth to our illustration!
Finally, draw some shadows over the body of the strawberry and on the leaves. You can also sketch a shadow under the leaves.
Add some colors and you are finished! Notice the white spot on the right. Strawberries are shiny and adding some reflections is important. Also, notice that each achenes is surrounded by a small, dark shadow.
