How to draw a cartoon poodle
This simple tutorial will help you learn to draw a cartoon poodle! I must admit that it's hard not to laugh when looking at a poodle! They are really funny to look at with their long, thin ears and pink coat!
But did you know that poodles are extremely intelligent and agile? And that they are very often winning dog contests? Let's try to draw a cute poodle in this easy and amusing drawing lesson!
First, sketch an oval to create the head of your dog. Then, add two other oval shapes to form the eyes of your poodle. Notice that each eye is slightly incline towards the inside of the head.
Next, draw a circle on top of the head to illustrate the coat of your dog. For the ears, just sketch a long and thin rectangle with a small circle on the end.
Now let's create the body! The neck will be covered with coat. Just draw a circle to represent it for now. The body itself will be drawn using a rectangle. Make sure that the top of it is narrower.
To illustrate the back legs, sketch an oval shape. For the feet, just draw a small rectangle. Between the legs and the feet, draw a circle to form the coat.
For the feet in front of the dog, just draw a small rectangle with a circle on top.
Now it's time to refine our poodle! For the drop ears, just make the end of each of them puffy and loaded with small circles. Do the same on top of the head. You can also add a small nose to your dog. It should be shaped like a smooth triangle.
Now work on the outline of the body of your poodle. Make sure that the coat is drawn like the one on top of the head.
Finally, work on the back legs of your dog.
Add all small details remaining like the pupils, the line inside the back legs and the ones inside the feet.
Just color the coat in pink and you are done! You now have a nice and elegant cartoon poodle ready to enter any contest! To create the perfect poodle, just remember to draw a thin, but agile dog with a nice pink coat placed in all strategic areas! I hope you had fun drawing this adorable and funny animal!
