Drawing a cartoon polar bear: some fun facts before starting sketching!
-Polar bear are very good and powerful swimmers.
-Under the white fur, the polar bear have a tick black skin.
-The biggest threat for those lovely animals is the change in climate and temperature.
This tutorial will help you learn how to draw a cartoon polar bear.
This big and strong animal is easy to recognize with its white fur (1), small round ears (2) and with its big black nose.
The polar bear also has deep black eyes and some powerful legs (4). At the end of these legs, you will find some solid paws with very sharp claws.
No one wants to meet a polar bear alone in the north pole!
Looking at the shape of this wild and feared animal, you can notice that the body is drawn using an oval shape.
This one is getting narrower near the head.
The ears are made with circles and they are small compare to the size of this animal.
On the opposite, the legs are large and very thick. They need to look strong and powerful.
Let's try to draw a simple polar bear using some simple shapes. First, draw the body of your bear using a circle. Then, you can add the legs by drawing two rectangles.
Next, draw the head of your animal with a simple but irregular oval. Notice that this shape is getting a little wider on both end. You can add the eyes of your character by drawing two circles and adding two dots in the middle.
Finally, you can add details like the nose and the ears of your polar bear. To make it more enjoyable, you can add shadows, the legs on the far side and remove all unnecessary lines.
You can now practice yourself and draw some very original polar bears! This one can be big (2), smaller and cuter (4) or just a little more cartoonish (3). The beauty with this animal is that you don't need to play with colors if you don't wish to do so! Enjoy!
