In this tutorial, you will learn to draw a colorful cartoon planet similar to Saturn! Furthermore, you will learn to create a nice and sharp ring and apply some basic lighting effects to your creation!
Drawing a colorful planet is not as difficult as you might think! Let's start this drawing lesson right now!

First, draw a nice and big circle to illustrate the outline of your planet. Keep some room on both sides to draw the rings later on.

Speaking of rings, sketch a long and thin oval shape to represent them. You can incline this shape (almost in a 45 degrees angle) to create a visually appealing planet.

Convert your oval shape into a nice and sharp ring. Make sure that you are erasing the part behind the planet carefully.

Next, add some lines on the planet to create the different stripes of gas visible on the planet. You can also add a couple of rings.

Apply some colors (all related to orange and yellow) to give a better look to your planet.

finally, add a shadow on the right side, one below the ring and another one behind the planet on the right part of the rings. You can also add a subtle reflection on the left side of the planet. That's it! A nice and colorful planet with some depth drawn in only six easy and simple steps! I hope you had fun drawing your planet!
