How to draw a cartoon king

This drawing lesson will help you learn to draw a cartoon king! A kingdom cannot be called one without a good king and queen. A good king will be generous, kind, charming and able to take some crucial decisions in order to keep the kingdom healthy and alive!
In this easy step-by-step tutorial, you will learn to draw an amusing king with a red suit and a long, white beard!

First, draw a circle to create the head of the king. Next, add two small circles to form the ears. These circles should be located in the middle of the head and be relatively small.

Add a rectangle on top of the head of your character to illustrate the crown. It might look a little ridiculous for now, but this shape will be very useful later on. Next, draw a rectangle below the head to form the beard. Make the bottom of this new shape a little narrower than the top.

Now let's sketch the body of your king! For the suit, just add a rectangle. Make the bottom a little larger. Sketch a rectangle on the left to create the right arm. Add another (and smaller) rectangle near the wrist. For the hand, just draw a circle for now.

Repeat the same steps to form the left arm. Only this time, the arm should be raised a little to hold the king's sceptre. This new object should be illustrated with a long and thin rectangle. On the end, add a small triangle for now.

Now let's refine the head of our king! Work on the crown and add a couple of spikes to it. Next, make the beard smoother and rounder. Finally, you can add some hair behind the head of our character.

Complete the head by drawing the eyes, the pupils, the nose and the mouth.

Refine your image a little more by working on the suit of the king. You can also draw a better sceptre by making the stick thinner and the top larger.

Finish your illustration by adding some details to the suit and a line between the right arm of your king and its body.

Add some colors and your character should look pretty amazing by now! You can always choose to draw another king using your own style and by adding other details like jewelery or weapons. Just don't forget to draw a crown and make sure that your character is strong and that he is having a nice and winning attitude.
A king needs to project a nice image of himself in order to reign for a long time! I hope you had fun drawing this funny cartoon king and good luck!
