This lesson will help you learn to draw a cartoon goose! If you are a bird lover, then maybe you already know the goose is not the name of a particular bird, but more of a group of birds.

They usually have a long and thin body with a small and dark beak. In this example, we will try to create a goose that is typical to cartoon standards (a white body with an orange beak).

For this first step, sketch an oval to form the head. Then, add two more oval shapes to illustrate the eyes. Like shown on the image above, the eye on the left should be behind the right eye and the head.

Next, add a long and thin rectangle to create the neck. Once you are finished, draw a small triangle on the left of the head to represent the beak.

To form the body, simply draw a large rectangle. Make sure that this new shape is well-connected with the neck. Then, below this rectangle, add an oval to make the bottom of the body rounder. Finally, sketch a small triangle on the back of the goose to form the tail.

For the legs, draw a rectangle to illustrate the feathers. Then, add a small rectangle under the previous shape to illustrate the leg. The feet should be sketch using a simple rectangle.

Now work on the outline of the body of your animal friend. My goose was intentionally drawn with straight lines to give it more attitude. Only the head and the neck are drawn with curved lines.

Then, make the beak smoother and more delicate. You can also add pupils and eyebrows to your goose.

The legs should not be too difficult to create. Like you can see on the image above, the feathers on top are connected to the body. To make the illustration cleaner and easier to read, I decided to draw only two fingers on the feet of my goose.

Finally, add another feet behind the first one using the same recipe. You can also sketch a wing using a simple line.

When everything is finished and polished, add some colors (orange) to the feet and the beak. You can apply a darker color to the feet on the far side to add more realism to your creation. It will also add a sense of depth to your illustration. Congratulations! You now have a nice and clean cartoon goose created in nine instructive steps! I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial and good luck!
