How to draw cartoon bats

This tutorial will help you learn how to draw cartoon bats. Besides Batman, bats aren't really appealing for most of us. They are ugly, weird (they sleep upside down and live only at night!) and feared by many.
Still, in this very easy lesson, you will learn to draw a bat that is amusing, aggressive and funny-looking!

For this first step, just draw a circle to create the head. Once you are done, draw two more circles to represent the eyes. You can make one of them a little bigger so that your character will look a little crazier!

Next, the body! Just draw a rectangle to illustrate the body. Make the top a little narrower than the bottom. Finally, add two rectangles to create each legs.

Now the fun part! The ears of the bat can be drawn using some triangles. As for the arms and the hands, just add a rectangle and a circle for now!

To represent the wings, you can sketch a rectangle and skew it a little to give some perspective.

It's now time to refine our drawing! Work on the outline of the head so that the ears can be a part of it. To make your cartoon more original, you can also join the two eyes together and leave and open area between both.

Since our bat is more cartoonish than realistic, draw some human hands in a posture similar to the one of a zombie. For the body and the legs, you can easily do the whole thing with one line. Just study the image above carefully for more information.

For the wings, just sketch something similar to the Batman logo. Make sure that the tip of the wing is larger than the closer part.

Complete your drawing by adding details like the eyes, the mouth and the teeth.

Just add colors (mostly gray tones) and there you have it! A nice and amusing bat done in no time! I hope you enjoy this bat tutorial!
