How to draw a cartoon ant

Learn how to draw a nice and adorable cartoon ant! This very hard-working and very sociable insect can be found on all continents. Of course, like many insects, man don't usually enjoy the presence of ants!

Still, for this lesson purposes, let's be friend again with this amazing little creature and let's see how we could draw it easily!

First, draw a circle to illustrate the head of your ant. Once you are done, add two oval shapes to create the eyes. You can draw these new shapes a little more on the left of your character's face to give a slight perspective to your image.

Then, draw the body of your ant by sketching two oval shapes connected by two tiny rectangles. Make the oval on the bottom a little bit bigger than the one on top.

Now let's add four arms to our character. To achieve this, draw four circles on the last oval shape of the body. These circles will be used to create the hands. To form the arms, simply draw a curved line like shown above.

Continue your artwork by illustrating the antennas. Simply add a line with two junctions for each antenna. To sketch the legs and the feet, just draw a line like shown on the illustration above. For the main part of the body, draw a big oval shape behind your ant and near the ground.

Now refine the outline of your ant's head. The tip of the mouth should be narrow and pointed. Draw the antennas similar to the lines you draw before. Just make them ticker and wider.

You can also work on the body of your ant to make it look more appealing. Notice that the tip of the main bodypart is narrow and edgy.

Finally, just add some thickness to our arms and legs.

Add a nice mix of brown colors and there you have it! A nice and colorful cartoon ant drawn in only eight easy steps! This character is a little tricky to create at first, but you shouldn't have any problems to do so by following this tutorial carefully. I hope you had fun drawing our little insect friend!
