Here is a little Avatar movie review!
Watching all the buzz around Avatar made my wonder: Does a movie who pushes the boundaries of technology needs to have a good storyline? Obviously, James Cameron doesn't think so!
The purpose of a good movie is to give you some intense emotions. Avatar might be able to deliver, but only because of the technology involved.
There is no doubt that the environment and places in Avatar are astonishing! That the 3D technology is over-delivering. But is it enough to make this one a classic movie? One to remember forever?
If a movie does last nearly 3 hours, then it should definitely be entertaining and interesting. Avatar is interesting, but maybe only for the eyes!
I'm also having a problem with a movie with such a strong environmental message that even kids might be a little exasperated by all the sermons about nature and green life (or blue life, in this case!)
Avatar is a revolution! But certainly not in the screenplay department! It's a shame cause this one was destined to be a cult movie!
Avatar is like looking at a superb poster. Unlike a book with content, your mind will be filled with beautiful images (which is not a bad thing!). But don't expect to be amazed by a great story!
It's a little disappointing however to watch a big poster that cost 500 million dollars to create!
Don't get me wrong! It is a must-see movie! I'm just a little disappointed to see that only the technical side of Avatar is remarkable!
Next time James, do us a favor! Take a small part of this 500 million dollars to hire a couple of good writers! It couldn't hurt!
